Dale Winton was born on 22nd of May 1955 at Marylebone, London in England. He is a British by nationality and ethnicity wise, he is a Caucasian. He is the son of Gary Winner and Sheree Winton. Dale's father was a Jewish while his mother was an actress who converted to Judaism.  Dale Winton grew up with his mother after his father's death. In early stages of his career in 1972, he worked as a DJ in various clubs in Richmond. He met Steve Allen during that time after which they became best friends. Then he did many jobs including selling time shares abroad until in 1982 when he shifted to London.

After moving to London he worked as DJ during weekends. Then he came across United Biscuits Industrial Radio where he did numerous odd jobs. Then he got his own morning show. After that he went to Nottingham based Radio Trent. He left the job Radio Trent in 1985 and started working for several radio stations. In 1987, Dale started working for Channel 4, Lifestyle Channel and ITV which was his breakthrough into television. He hosted Dale’s Supermarket Sweep from 1993 till 2000 and again in 2007. He also worked as an irritating game show presenter in the 1996 film 'Trainspotting'.
Then he presented another show titled 'Pets win prizes' from 1995 till 1996. After that he presented various shows and contests including The Great British Song Contest, The Other Half, Touch the Truck and National Lottery game show ‘In It to Win It’. In 1999, he worked in a sitcom series called Gimme Gimme Gimme. Dale has also worked in BBC Three documentary called 'Dale's wedding'. Then he hosted series like Stars Reunited, Celebrity Fit Club, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Show Me What You've Got,  You've Got The Answer and many more. Dale Winton has also enjoyed a successful career in the Radio. He has presented the show on BBC Radio 2 called Pick of the Pops. He published his autobiography in 2002.
